San Francisco is rich in cultural diversity. People from all part of the world are present in the eleven district of the city. However each of the districts has its own culture which makes it unique among other districts. The most noticeable and discussed neighborhood of the city is Castro. Castro is known for being gay friendly nature. It is know as the gay capital of world. Several festivals are organized throughout the summer inviting gays and lesbians from all over the world. Due to its gay friendliness, gays and lesbians make a great proportion of Castro’s population.
Chinatown is also a famous district of San Francisco. American Chinese are the major part of the population of the district. For the same reason Chinese culture is dominant in this district. Chinatown has many Chinese restaurants, houses and buildings with pagoda roofs, and dragon-entwined lampposts. Even the street signs are designed with Chinese calligraphy. Chinatown in San Francisco is the largest Chinese community outside china.
Golden Gate, Nob Hill-Russian Hill, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square-Financial District, SoMa, Haight, Twin Peaks-Lake Merced, Civic Center-Tenderloin,
Mission-Bernal Heights, Southeast San Francisco, and the Avenues are the districts of San Francisco. All these districts are home to may nations, providing different culture in each district. Besides that these district are one of the most liberal places in the world.
