What Are the Latest Trends in Salon Treatments?

Each year, there is seems to be a few new treatments to come along that are offered in salons. While not every treatment will be appropriate for each customer, there are some women that will truly enjoy most of these new treatments. However, you may find that some are a little different than what you would normally expect in a salon.

The Fish Pedicure

This salon treatment was first offered in the United States in Virginia. However, the first reported use was in Turkey and the treatment has become quite popular in many Asian countries. The process is rather simple and there are many people who swear by the results.

In order to receive a fish pedicure, your feet are cleaned and buffed. You will then place your feet in a tub of warm water. Here’s where the fish come in. In this water are tiny garra rufa, a type of carp, which will feed on the dead skin cell found on your feet. If you have calluses or dry skin, the fish will nibble on your feet. After approximately thirty minutes, your feet are removed, cleaned again, and buffed once more. This treatment is quickly gaining in popularity throughout the United States. It has been highlighted on many of the morning news shows across the country.

Women report a tingling feeling while the fish are nibbling; however, since there are no teeth in these little fish’s mouths, you have no worries about getting bit. Many women speak of how the process tickles. One thing is certain: women love the results!

The Snake Massage

If you are afraid of snakes, the following spa treatment is certainly not for you! Recently, a popular television host highlighted a woman from Israel, Ada Barak, who owns Ada Barak’s Carnivorous Plant Farm. Ms. Barak owns a very unique business in Israel. It is a snake massage parlor and the basic concept is to lay down while you have snakes poured all over you. The constant wriggling is supposed to be very relaxing and soothing. However, for those that simply cannot stand the sight of a snake, this is probably not for you.

The Arctic Ice Room

The Qua Spa in Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, offers a rather chilling experience. The Arctic Ice Room offers customers a chance to “cool off” and relax in a room where snow falls from the ceiling. The temperature is a very cool 55 degrees Fahrenheit and the benefits are supposedly tighter skin and a reduction in the appearance of pores.

Gold Facial Treatment

Umo Inc., located in Japan offers an expensive take on a normal facial. The spa is offering a facial that uses thin sheets of 24-carat gold in an attempt to ward off wrinkles. While the final bill for the salon may not be very low, you will probably leave there feeling like a million bucks!

Strange as it may be, the above spa treatments are very popular in the areas where these treatments are offered. It seems that women will stop at nothing in search of beautiful skin!
