Salon Tips for Brides: How to Prep for the Big Day

One of the best things about getting married is the trip to the salon right before the wedding. Many women spend an entire day at the salon or spa with their bridesmaids and enjoy getting pampered. If you have upcoming nuptials, here are some tips for getting the most out of your salon or spa experience.

Get a manicure. If your nails are not picture perfect, you may wish to have acrylic nails or tips applied. Opt for a light color to match your white wedding dress. You may also consider a French manicure. However, you should avoid very bright and bold colors. Try to match the colors that are found in your bouquet.

Get a pedicure. Many brides prefer to wear open toed shoes, so a pedicure is a must. Make sure your feet are soft and free of any calluses, as well.

Get a facial. If you have problematic skin, you may wish to visit a dermatologist in order to have a glowing complexion. There are several salons that offer microderm abrasion and skin peels. If you wish to have this treatment, make sure you schedule it several days in advance, as these treatments can often leave your skin red and raw.

Get a back facial. So many of today’s wedding dresses leave the bride’s back exposed. Many salons offer exfoliating, cleansing, and toning treatments for the back and shoulders.

Get your tanning done early. Just in case you become a little sunburned, you want to make sure you have time to recover.

Get your waxing done early as well. As you know, waxing can sometimes irritate the skin. Get your waxing session completed a couple of days prior to the wedding, so you won’t have any redness or irritation.

Consider a massage for your bridesmaids and yourself. This can be a terrific bonding experience and will give you and your friends some much needed relaxation.

Here are some things to avoid right before your wedding:

Avoid a look that is just completely different or out of character for you. If you normally don’t have thin eyebrows, now is not the time to go for this look. You will be much more relaxed with a look that you are familiar with.

Avoid using any beauty product right before your wedding that you haven’t used before. This will make sure you don’t have an adverse reaction to a specific product.

Put together an emergency beauty kit. This should include a nail file, touch up makeup, baby wipes, and bobby pins. This will help to avert any disaster before it starts.

Remember to breath and to smile. No matter what beauty treatments you put yourself through, you need to look relaxed and happy. This, however, is something you must feel.

Following the above tips and techniques will help you relax and be ready for your wedding. You may also want to ask your friend for advice on other beauty treatments that will have you in perfect form for your big day.
