How to Save on Salon Treatments

If you frequently go to your favorite salon for hair cuts, facials, manicures and pedicures, or other treatments, you can quickly rack up quite an expense account for beauty. On average, women spend about $200 each visit and this is only expected to go up in the next few years. Since the costs of operating a salon have gone up as well, salon owners have no choice but to raise their prices for their services and treatments.

There are some ways you can save on salon treatments. First of all, check on the availability of salon treatment packages. Many spas and salons will offer greatly discounted rates when you combine treatments or services. You can often find one service will be offered at up to fifty percent off if you purchase another service or treatment with it.

You might also find some great deals when you bring a friend. As a marketing tool to increase their client base, some salons have started offering a free treatment package when you refer a friend. If you go together, you can split the cost with your friend and both have a terrific salon experience.

If you have an upcoming wedding, several salons offer deep discounts on wedding packages. Some will offer a bride and groom package together. These services and treatments can be a lot of fun, no matter if you are with your soon-to-be-spouse or your bridesmaids. Just remember to book the appointment early enough and call to confirm.

You can also find savings online. Some salons have started providing coupons online on their websites. You may find a discount for a certain percentage off your entire salon experience or you may find one or two specific treatments that are discounted.

Check around. You may find a special at a salon that is full price elsewhere. Also, be sure to attend any grand openings. There are often great product samples given out, along with special incentives to visit the salon.

If you travel frequently, you can also use your frequent flyer miles for spa and salon services. Many times, you may qualify for a greatly discounted rate on a treatment or service in the hotel spa. Some hotels will offer a free service just to get you in the front door of the spa or salon. Ask the concierge about current salon specials.

On the same note as the frequent flyer miles, you can also find discounts and specials through any number of rewards clubs. Since many of these require purchases from a participating business, you may find that your prior purchases will quickly add up to a free facial, massage, or hair cut.

There are many ways you can go to a salon and still save money. Keep your eyes open for promotions and specials. Ask your family and friends if they know of any current programs in effect that will save you money at their salon. You may be surprised how you can save money with just a little effort.
